HVAC/Refrigeration Lead Technician

LIC based Local 638 HVAC Service Company has an opening for highly skilled experienced Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians for hi-volume fast paced service department. Opportunities are available for Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain service and repair HVAC/Refrigeration equipment and associated systems in commercial and industrial establishments.
  • Assess equipment and service needs of customer.
  • Identify revenue generating opportunities; make recommendations to customer that can be immediately performed.
  • Service and repair HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment.
  • Possess diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Prepare accurate daily reporting on work orders and quotes.
  • Communicate with Dispatcher and Service department personnel.
  • Utilize all applicable safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Exhibit courteous and helpful behavior towards customers and third parties.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A valid clean driver’s license and meet the company’s motor vehicle policy.
  • FDNY Torch Certification
  • Be proficient with Smart Phone Usage, Knowledge of IVR usage and Retail procedures is a plus
  • Be available for 24 hour on call Emergency shift service

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Service Coordinator/Customer Service

AFGO, a dynamic HVAC Mechanical Services Company in the NYC Metropolitan Area, is seeking an energetic and assertive individual for a Service Coordinator/Customer Service position. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills, an attention to detail and exceptional verbal and written communication skills in order to correspond with clients, coworkers, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

  • Setting up appointments for Preventive Maintenance and Quoted Repair services
  • Providing status updates as relates to Technician response time, diagnosis and resolution.
  • Conducting follow up correspondence to ensure Client satisfaction
  • Teaming with designated Dispatcher, assisting with the scheduling and coordination of Technician workload

Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess previous Customer Service experience in a business to business environment. Microsoft application experience is a must. Knowledge of the following programs is preferred:

  • DataBasics/ Sampro Operating Software
  • ServiceChannel
  • FM Pilot

Mechanical Project Manager/Estimator

AFGO, a dynamic HVAC Mechanical Services Company in the NYC Metropolitan Area, is looking to expand its Unit Replacement Division and is seeking highly-skilled, service-oriented individuals to meet the challenge of joining their team as Mechanical Project Manager/Estimators.
Ideal candidates will possess an HVAC technical background, a keen attention to detail, solid interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to (Essential Functions):

  • Conducting field surveys and preparing unit replacement estimates.
  • Ensuring that all projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget
  • Management of AFGO Field Labor
  • Coordination of sub-contractors and equipment delivery.
  • Preparation and negotiation of change orders

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of HVAC technical field experience
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to read and decipher mechanical, sheet metal, & piping drawings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Project Manager
  • Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required
  • Required Education: HS Diploma/GED

Dispatcher

A Long Island City based HVAC Service Company seeks an energetic and aggressive Dispatcher with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Candidate will ensure that all calls for service, repair and maintenance are handled in a timely fashion. Candidate should possess good oral and written communication skills, both with coworkers and over the telephone with outside company associates.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

  • 3+ years’ experience dispatching
  • MUST have experience in a high-volume service organization
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Proficient multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to be proactive and resourceful
  • Takes initiative, pursues opportunities, and is goal oriented
  • Dispatch technician(s) for scheduled maintenances, emergency and routine service calls
  • Dispatch technician(s) based on skill and location

AFGO Mechanical Services, Inc. has been in business for over 25 years and is a growing Commercial HVAC Service Company in the NYC Metropolitan Area. Our office is conveniently located in Long Island City, Queens near the N, Q Train stops.

Job Description: Candidate will be required to manage the daily operations of the Parts Department which will include purchasing material and maintaining inventory levels to ensure that the Service Department can complete their work in a timely manner without delay. In addition, Candidate will be required to work with other Staff including Customer Service Coordinators, Field Technicians, and the Service Manager in performing day to day operations in a busy fast paced and busy environment. Prior knowledge of material and parts related to HVAC and Mechanical is a plus, but not required. Candidate must possess a systems and process background. We will train the right candidate. This position will require the following skills and traits:

  • Fulfill Material Requirements quickly and accurately
  • Source Replacement Parts as required
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history.

  • Monitor stock inventory levels
  • Reorder material for stock
