AFGO Supports Cooper Union’s 2019 Hyperloop Team

AFGO is proud to support the The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Hyperloop Team, who are entering a pod in the SpaceX Hyperloop pod competition in 2019.

The competition pits them against other college engineering teams to create the fastest and safest pod to run through SpaceX’s Hyperloop test track in Hawthorne, CA.

AFGO wishes the Cooper Union team the best of luck, and we’re happy to sponsor the creative engineers of tomorrow.

AFGO Salutes The Heroism Of Long-time Technician

Today AFGO president Blaine T. Udell presented Jack Bougas, a long-time technician here, with a Certificate Of Appreciation. Last week a fire broke out in a nearby restaurant. Jack, with no thought to his own safety, rushed into the building to save lives. We are all very proud of Jack and inspired by his example.

AFGO Proudly Supports Walgreens & Red Nose Day 2018

On Thursday, May 24th, 2018 the office and field staff of AFGO Mechanical Services, Inc. took time to support Red Nose Day, an initiative of our client Walgreens that supports charitable organizations such as City Year and the Boys And Girls Club. Money raised goes to the Red Nose Day Fund, which supports programs that ensure children in need are safe, healthy and educated. Half the money distributed will be spent right here in America across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The other half will be spent in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Red Nose Day grants aim to address both the immediate needs of children living in poverty, and foster long-term change—to break the cycle of poverty and provide hope for a better future.

AFGO is proud to support Walgreens and Red Nose Day!

AFGO Is Growing In 2018!

AFGO is growing to serve our valued customers in 2018 with brand new trucks and equipment! Remember that our vehicles are regionally zoned throughout the metro area, so even though we’re in Long Island City YOU are never far from an AFGO truck.

AFGO Is Proud To Support The Lustgarten Foundation

AFGO is a proud supporter of the Lustgarten Foundation For Pancreatic Cancer Research and we have again donated to their great work. The Lustgarten Foundation, founded in 1999 and named for the late Marc Lustgarten, is the largest private organization in America dedicated to finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. Thanks to a grant from Cablevision (of which Mr. Lustgarten was an executive) 100% of every donation to Lustgarten goes directly towards research. The Foundation has a 4-star ranking from Charity Navigator, putting it at the very top. We urge you to make a contribution to this worthy cause.

AFGO Gets Into The Halloween Spirit

Nobody loves Halloween like us (some of us even dressed up for work). Enjoy some pictures of the AFGO gang getting into the spooky Halloween spirit. We really outdid ourselves this year in terms of costumes.

We wish all of our clients and friends a very Happy Halloween. Don’t ruin your appetite with candy!

Company Outing To Six Flags Great Adventures “Spooktacular” 2017

On September 23rd, the AFGO family (staff and management) traveled out to Jackson, NJ for our traditional October company outing to Six Flags Great Adventure.

With Halloween approaching, Six Flag’s “Fright Fest” theme and “Spooktacular” parade are always a big hit. We always enjoy the opportunity to have fun together as a company after a very busy and productive summer season. We enjoyed a big family-style meal, took a ride through the safari, and enjoyed the big coasters and other rides.

Going into the fall/winter cooling HVAC season, this was a great way to refresh the batteries and enjoy each other’s company. We hope you all have a great Halloween season.

AFGO Is Proud To Support Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer’s Awareness & Brain Awareness Month (ABAM) in the United States, and AFGO is proud to “go purple” and support the effort to raise awareness of this condition.

Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in America, and the latest estimates are that over 5 million people in this country suffer from the disease.

Please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association for this worthy cause to #EndAlz.
