Recently AFGO celebrated its annual company outing at Wantagh Park in Wantagh on Long Island. It was a wonderful day full of great food, music, games, and allowed AFGO’s valued employees and their families a chance to socialize and have fun. These outings bring everyone here at AFGO together and are one of the highlights of our company calendar.
As part of AFGO’s ongoing commitment to giving back, we have again supported the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America with a donation for their upcoming awards dinner- their 49th annual event.
AFGO has done this in memory of Michael and William Modell, in light of our long-standing business partnership with Mitchell Modell and Modell’s Sporting Goods.
We urge you to donate to the CCFA if you can, and help them with their important work.
Philanthropy is one of the cornerstones of the corporate culture of AFGO Mechanical and one of the organizations who’s mission means a lot to us is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Founded by the famous entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962, St. Jude has revolutionized cancer treatment in children. At the time, cancer survival rates in children were under 20%. With St. Jude’s work in the last 50 years, they are now over 80%.
St. Jude accepts all eligible patients without consideration towards ability to pay. All expenses such as food and family housing, in addition to treatment, are paid for by the hospital. This is obviously very costly, and they rely on charitable citizens and organizations to donate.
AFGO is proud to support St. Jude’s mission, and urges you to become a Partner In Hope yourself.
We at AFGO are proud and long-time supporters of the Lustgarten Foundation For Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Pancreatic cancer is incredibly deadly- 93% of patients die within 5 years of diagnosis and over 50,000 Americans will be diagnosed with it this year.
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. We urge you to consider donating to the Lustgarten Foundation.
Bringing back a company tradition, the AFGO staff and their families enjoyed a great day out to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. We enjoyed the hair-raising rides and a safari tour.
